Watercolor
About 10 years ago, I went to celebrate my beautiful friend, Courtney, as she married her High School sweetheart in Seaside, FL. It was picturesque and since then, I have always wanted to go back.
As Nick and I sat down to plan our summer, I suggested 30A. Because of my pesky pneumothorax that doesn’t seem to want to go away, I am unable to fly. So we wanted to choose a destination that we could drive to.
Nick did a ton of research and lucky for us, we were able to lock down a house in Watercolor (a short golf cart drive from Seaside!) with the dates we needed.

We have always travelled with our besties, Jeff and Alma. In fact, last year was the first time in YEARS that we had not taken a trip together #covid. This vacation was different because this one included our kiddos. As exhausting as it was, it was a BLAST. There are few things as satisfying as hearing your kiddos laugh and tell you that today was “the best day EVER!!!”

It is the perfect spot for families and singles alike! There is so much to do…. especially if you have young children.
We spent a majority of our day either at the beach (building epic sandcastles) or by the pool. There is also a place called Camp Watercolor that we frequented. It has a lazy river, slides and even a kiddie section for the younger babes. As well as a playground!

We ate from home, taking full advantage of our kitchen! However, we did eat out a few time! FOOW (Fish Out Of Water) was AMAZING. I had swordfish, which I had never had before, and it was very good! And our kiddos devoured a grilled cheese and chicken fingers! Nick had to grouper and gave it a 10/10.
We also ate at Bud and Alleys. TBH this wasn’t my favorite menu selection. I ended up getting the peel and eat shrimp and they were PERFECTION. The kiddos loved their chicken and I loved that it was served with green beans and mashed potatoes! Nick had the gulf fish dish, which was Cobia, and said it was really good! If anything, I highly recommend at least having a cocktail here, as the views here are incredible.
We walked the square in Seaside where the kiddos danced their hearts out and devoured ice cream like it was going out of style!

We spent many nights walking the beach and letting the kids splash a little in the ocean. And one night we had s’mores on the beach (highly recommend!!!)

Exhausted, tanned, and many amazing memories made (including P losing a tooth!) SUCCESS!

Where are you going this summer? Where should we go next???
